Since 1983, Dr. Mark Berman has been practicing Cosmetic Surgery at his Santa Monica office on Ocean Avenue. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a pioneer in the use of Gore-TexÔ materials for cosmetic surgery and has patents pending on various surgical devices and implants. He's also pioneered the concept of volume replenishing to rejuvenate the aging face. He enjoys many different sporting activities, plays the guitar, and loves to read and write. His favorite time of day, however, is when he's in the operating room performing surgery. The Breast Society is very pleased to announce that our Past President, Dr. Berman, has created a new original external surface covering for breast implants that is designed to keep the implants feeling and looking natural. It has been successful in clinical trials in breast implant surgery. It is a new revolutionary innovation that is called the pocket protector. He discusses and explains it in the following article.
